Chapel

Casa Verbo Divino has a beautiful chapel for prayer and liturgy which can accommodate 250 guests.

The stained glass windows of the chapel were designed by J. W. Mengelberg, Zeist, Holland (1954). The unique and beautiful designs are mostly marian and missionary inspired.

The images and Station of the Cross were made by the famous sculptress - Maria Amélia Carvalheira. This Chapel is the only place in Portugal where the majority and best works of the sculptress can be seen.

The chapel has also a pipe organ with good acoustic quality.

It is the ideal place to celebrate liturgy for big groups such as parochial pilgrimages and to celebrate the sacrament of matrimony.

On Sundays, the Missionaries of the Divine Word celebrate the mass here at 9:00 AM and it is open to the public.
